SiriusXM’s Storme Warren to Host Star-Studded Mid-America EMMY(R) Awards 40th Anniversary in Branson / Special Guest Presenters Include the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters, and TV Legend Barry Williams at the October 1st Gala in the Branson Convention Center

ST. LOUIS, MO–(Marketwired – August 08, 2016) – The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Mid-America announced today that broadcasting veteran and SiriusXM radio host Storme Warren has been tapped to host the 2016 Mid-America EMMY® Awards presented by Branson and Silver Dollar City. The 40th Anniversary gala will be held in Branson, Missouri on October 1, 2016 at the Branson Convention Center. This will be the Mid-America EMMY® awards largest venue in history, with seating for nearly 1,000 gala attendees.

Storme Warren can be heard weekday morning’s anchoring SiriusXM’s “The Highway” on satellite radio. Known as the “Dick Clark of country music,” Warren has hosted and produced shows and live events on TNN, CNN Showbiz Today, Great American Country and CMT. He has also hosted the CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

“Storme has a radio and TV career lasting more than three decades,” said Stacey Woelfel, President of NATAS Mid-America. “You’ve seen and heard his work locally, regionally and nationally. He’s helped shape the new face of the industry, and we look forward to having him host this special 40th Anniversary Mid-America EMMY® gala in Branson.

This year’s gala will also have special guest presenters, including Big Easy Lofton and Flight Time Lang from the world famous Harlem Globetrotters. They appeared three times on CBS’s EMMY® Award-winning series “The Amazing Race,” as well as shows including “The Price is Right” and “Cupcake Wars.” TV legend Barry Williams, Greg Brady from The Brady Bunch, will also be a special guest. He currently stars in the hit Branson show, “The 70s Music Celebration.”

The Mid-America EMMY® awards are presented each fall to media professionals across all broadcast and video disciplines in the region. The NATAS Mid-America chapter covers media markets in portions of eight states including Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Iowa and Oklahoma. NATAS Mid-America is one of 19 regional chapters that act as the standard bearers for excellence in the television broadcasting industry.

It’s been a huge part of my life,” said Warren. “It will be an honor to present regional EMMY® Awards to hardworking broadcast professionals from markets across the Mid-America region.”

This year, the regional EMMY® Awards gala includes a weekend of activities. The weekend tees off Friday, September 30th with the inaugural Walter Cronkite Scholarship golf tournament at the home of the Senior PGA Tour Bass Pro Shops “Legends of Golf,” Top of the Rock. Saturday morning, gala attendees will be treated to food, music, rides and family fun at Silver Dollar City. The gala begins Saturday night at 4:30 p.m. with some additional surprises only Branson can deliver.
